Public Health Educator- Marshall, Redwood Falls, Ivanhoe, or Pipestone

Southwest Health and Human Services currently has Public Health Educator that in our Marshall, Ivanhoe, Pipestone or Redwood Falls office location.

Southwest Health and Human Services (SWHHS) is a multi-county agency committed to strengthening individuals, families and communities by providing quality services in a respectful, caring and cost-effective manner.

This position will implement effective community-based health promotion strategies primarily in TZD (Toward Zero Deaths) and RSG (Response Sustainability Grant/Emergency Preparedness).  Duties include community engagement, building partnerships, conducting presentations, meeting facilitation, assessment, strategic planning, policy development and implementation, evaluation and providing consultation and assistance to individuals and groups.  Other duties may be assigned, depending on education/qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in health science, public health, or behavioral or social science, or related degree.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of Public Health practice and implementation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in building community relations and partnerships to make change
  • Experience in assessment and planning, communications and health equity
  • Strong public speaking skills

Rate of Pay: $26.59 – $41.14 hourly
