Internship Opportunities

Are you looking to complete an internship?  We can provide internships in a variety of program areas including; Social Work, Public Health, Human Resources.

Benefits

  • 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • 1 hour lunch break
  • 15 minute break – am & pm

Monday through Friday – 37 ½ hours

  • Public Employee Retirement Account – PERA
  • SWHHS contributes 7.5% of employee gross wages with an employee contribution of 6.5%

SWHHS is committed to offering competitive benefits at a price employees can afford. To assist employees in the cost of these benefits, SWHHS, contributes up to a maximum of $616 for single coverage and $991 for family coverage per month for insurance benefits

Single and family coverage options available in four deductible plans.

SWHHS provides $50,000 Group Life Insurance Policy for each employee at a no cost to employee. Additional life insurance is available to employees and
their family.

Insurance coverage that will cover 60% of your income if you are out of work due to an illness or injury for an extended period of time. Coverage will start on the 91st day of being off. Provided at no cost to employee.

Voluntary insurance coverage option that will cover up to 60% of your income if you are out of work due to an illness or injury from 30 – 90 days.

Voluntary dental insurance is available to employees. They can elect coverage in employee only, employee + spouse, employee + children, or family coverage

Voluntary optical insurance is available to employees. They can elect coverage in employee only, employee + one, or family coverage.

Employees can elect to have pre-tax dollars withheld from their paycheck for medical and dependent care expenses.

Voluntary benefits available to employees include:

  • Deferred Comp
  • Identity Theft
  • Legal Shield

Vacation leave is available for employees to use to have time off from work for rest and relaxation. Vacation can be taken in .5 increments.

  • At initial hire, staff will earn 3.7 hours of vacation bi-weekly
  • At 3 years of service, staff will earn 4.33 hours of vacations bi-weekly
  • At 5 years of service, staff will earn 5.55 hours of vacation bi-weekly
  • At 10 years of service, staff will earn 6.45 hours of vacation bi-weekly
  • At 15 years of service, staff will earn 7.35 hours of vacation bi-weekly

Medical leave is available for employees to use for themselves and/or qualified family members. Employees earn 3.7 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Medical can be taken in .5 increments.

Ability to request flexible schedules and telecommuting options to support your work/life integration and increase productivity.

Employees who have accumulated medical leave balances may trade their medical leave hours to cover the cost of fitness expenses.

Employees are formally recognized for their Years of Service and retirement from the agency. The “You Rock” program has been created for peer-to-peer recognition.

Employees are able to check out bikes to increase physical activity.
